Biography

"My name is Frank Colón, and I am the founder and president of Patriotic Canine. Our mission at Patriotic Canine is a 501c(3) non-for-profit organization whose goal is to provide professionally trained service dogs to disabled veterans at no cost".

Frank Colón's love for dogs began in his early childhood. He was surrounded by dogs and grew up loving them. Colón's passion for training dogs started when he was only 8 years old. His experience in training service dogs specifically began after Colón became disabled in 1992 after being shot multiple times during a self-defense situation. He survived the altercation, but sustained a brain injury with severe paralysis.

Colón has trained hundreds of dogs his over 40 years of experience with obedience training. He has successfully trained all 4 of his previous and current personal service dogs. Colón has worked with organizations who train support and service dogs for disabled individuals. He has also competed and won multiple obedience and protection training tournaments.

"I am passionate about dogs, the country I we call home, and the people who served and need support. I am driven to use my skills and experience in dog training to give a little back to those who gave their all".
